How we buy
Direct, in small runs, from people we know by name
No middlemen and no mass production. We place orders of fewer than three hundred units, wait for the next run when something sells out, and name the maker on every page.
Because the range stays small, we can offer honest prices on pieces built to outlive trends.

Four things we keep coming back to
If a material cannot be repaired, refinished or composted, it does not go into the range.
European oak
FSC-certified, hardwax-oiled, and left open-pored so it ages honestly.
Unlacquered brass
Living finish. It darkens with handling and never looks new again.
Washed flax
Stonewashed in Portugal, softened mechanically instead of chemically.
High-fire stoneware
Fired to 1280°C so it survives dishwashers, ovens and daily use.
